You also get to come to work every day knowing you're making a positive impact on your community!A DAY IN THE LIFE OF AN ADVANCED EMERGENCY MEDICAL TECHNICIAN (AEMT)As a part-time Advanced Emergency Medical Technician (AEMT), you take charge of both emergency and non-emergency medical situations to administer care and resolve the problem. When a call comes in, you leap into the ambulance and respond as quickly as possible. You serve as the lead responder while on-scene, so you assess every situation and direct the emergency care activities. Alongside your EMT team, you provide at-the-scene care as well as advanced life support services when necessary. These services include ventilator applications, oral glucose administration, emergency childbirth assistance, and oropharyngeal and nasopharyngeal airway placement.You are vital to our team as you perform advanced medical techniques such as subcutaneous injections, intradermal biological tests, vaccine administrations, and nebulized inhalations. When appropriate, you administer medication such as epinephrine, morphine, diphenhydramine, and glucagon. If a patient needs to be transported, you carefully help load them into the ambulance and monitor their vital signs while on the road. Upon arriving at a hospital, you help unload the patient and share important information with their nurses and doctors. You are passionate about providing fantastic, thorough medical care, and you take great pride in being there for patients during emergency situations!QUALIFICATIONS FOR AN ADVANCED EMERGENCY MEDICAL TECHNICIAN (AEMT)

• 18+ years old
• 1+ years of full-time experience as an EMT
• HAZMAT awareness certification
• AEMT certification and completion of 150 hours of EMT training OR an equivalent combination of education and experience
• Certification in OR ability to become certified in Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), Pediatric Pre-Hospital (PEP), or Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)
• Knowledge about first aid and emergency medical techniques
• Valid Utah driver's license
• High school degree or equivalent
• Willingness to comply with our policy regarding physicals, drug tests, and background checksDo you thrive in fast-paced environments?
