Job Description & Requirements - Specialty: Med Surg - Discipline: RN - Start Date: ASAP - Duration: 13 weeks - 36 hours per week - Shift: 12 hours, days - Employment Type: Travel Job Description American Traveler is seeking an experienced Med/Surg RN with at least 2 years' experience and valid WY or compact RN license for a 13-week hospital contract. Responsibilities - Work in a Med/Surg unit within a hospital setting - Responsible for managing Med/Surg patients across all age groups - Unit has 20 rooms and 35 beds - Nurse to patient ratio is typically 1:5, increasing to 1:6 for emergent surgeries - Utilizes Alaris IV pumps, Hill-rom beds, Kangaroo pumps, and quadramed pyxis - Electronic charting and medication systems are in use - 12-hour day shifts with weekend shifts required - On-call may be necessary for low census situations - Floating may occur to ER, postpartum, and stepdown units for assisting duties without patient load - Initial orientation includes HR and education day, restraint training, and one shadow shift - No specific scrub color required for dress code - Local travelers are accepted within any radius - Holiday and overtime coverage may be necessary Requirements - Active WY or compact RN license required - Minimum of 2 years recent Med/Surg experience - Current BLS and PALS certifications required Benefits - High Pay and Bonuses - Medical, Dental and Vision Insurance with Day 1 Options - 401(k) Plan - Weekly Payroll Deposit - Free Online CEUs - Generous Housing Allowance - Travel and Licensure Reimbursements - Non-taxed Per Diem and Subsidy - Traveler Rewards and Discounts American Traveler Job ID P-618928.
