Has responsibility for coordination of all technical activities on assigned projects. Plans, schedules, conducts, and coordinates assigned engineering work; monitors work for compliance to applicable codes, accepted engineering practices, ensures effective communication and coordination on assigned projects between all departments and contractors. Assesses costs and other vital data pertaining to the project, ensuring that the project runs efficiently and on schedule. Reviews engineering drawings and coordinates the review process with key stakeholders.Key Responsibilities Maintains safe and clean working environment by enforcing procedures, rules, and regulations. Develops project objectives by reviewing project proposals and plans; conferring with management. Determines project responsibilities by identifying project phases and elements and reviewing bids from contractors. Determines project specifications by studying product design, customer requirements, and performance standards; completing technical studies; preparing cost estimates. Determines project schedule by studying project plan and specifications; calculating time requirements; sequencing project elements. Maintains project schedule by monitoring project progress; coordinating activities; resolving problems. Controls project plan by reviewing design, specifications, and plan and schedule changes; recommending actions. Controls project costs by approving expenditures; administering contractor contracts. Prepares project status reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends; recommending actions. Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.Typical Education Bachelor's Degree (B.A. or B.S.) in engineering disciplinefrom 4 year college or universityRelevant Experience 5 - 15years'demonstrated experience in managing projects. 5 - 15years' experience with engineering, optimization, and improvement. Experience in Phosphate Fertilizer mining and manufacturing is a plus. Demonstrated ability to manage priorities, meet deadlines and manage projects. Must be able to show initiative and be a 'self-starter' to achieve working goals. Must possess excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills.
